East African Community (EAC)
East African Community (EAC)
“It wouldn’t be wrong to call it, The East African Community (EAC), which has a population of more than 300 million with its 8 members including Kenya, Democratic Congo, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Federal Somalia Republic, South Sudan and the United Republic of Tanzania and its ports on two oceans, is the most effective and best is the best performing community in Africa in every field.
By establishing the customs union, they use the regional economy to access industries on a scale that small economies could never reach or countries could not achieve individually. The most important advantages offered by the East African Community are the visa-free travel of citizens of member countries, the policy of acting in accordance with common political and strategic goals, the cooperative management of a commercial potential exceeding 312 billion dollars thanks to the customs union, and the creation of a safe geography with common security policies. In this way, it creates a very attractive and profitable potential for both intra-African and international trade. Another important point here is that Kenya is the leading country in both the historical formation of this union and its effective and successful management today.”
